Meet Your Myrtle Beach Golf Directors!
Jerry McGraw
Originally from the Island of Long, but you would never know it now. When Jerry moved to the Carolinas in the 1970's he left his accent up north. Now he sounds like he's lived here all his life. Don't believe it? Just give Jerry a call. Don't ask Jerry for a lesson though. As a 25-year member of the PGA, Jerry has given more than his fair share of golf lessons. Lots of free lessons too, but don't remind him. He's got a lot of cheap friends.
Handicap: … " scratch, remember Jerry is a professional golfer."
Rob Moye
Survived a four-year scare at East Carolina University to become a semi-productive member of society. He still follows his beloved Pirates around in the fall, missing one home game since graduation in 1992 (not his fault!). After being educated and spending 8 years as an accountant, Rob has spent the last 6+ years looking for loopholes to get the best golfing value for his clients. Rob became a proud first time dad in January 2007, so his time on the links has diminished, much to the delight of golf course homeowners. In his spare time (what is that again?), Rob occasionally chases the little white ball around the course, often into the hazards or woods, which explains his generous 18-handicap. His golfing claim to fame is that he beat co-worker Josh once at Crow Creek, and now he refuses to go back. Just how inconsistent is Rob’s golf game? He shot a 35 on the back nine once. If only we could forget that 45 on the front nine…
Josh Goldstein
Josh was born, raised, and grew up playing golf (under Jerry’s expert tutelage) in North and South Carolina. Josh played his way through the College of Charleston (SC) as a member of their Golf Team (to the Nationals in his Junior Year) from 1998-2002. He returned “home” and joined the Coastal Golfaway team in 2002. Since then he is married to his lovely wife Heather, and like co-workers Rob and Alvin, Josh is a first time Daddy! He has a beautiful little 2-year old girl (Abby) who bosses him around more than his wife…hard to believe I’m sure. As far as playing golf these days…well let’s just say he is not playing “everyday”…he is pretty busy chasing the little one around the house! However, he always enjoys talking golf and discussing the limitless options of putting together some really great golf packages! Talk to him soon…before he forgets what the Myrtle Beach nightlife is like!!!
Handicap: "Jerry is his golfing mentor, and has taught him everything he knows..." (-this explains a lot!)
Pamela Richardson
From the mountains of West Virginia - to the New Orleans swamps - to the Carolina coast, Pam is the hillbilly gypsy of our group. Since 1978 she has worked in all areas of the travel industry and in 2001 she joined us. When Pam is not creating great golf packages and enjoying talking with the Coastal Golfaway customers, she plays a lot of old mountain music and enjoys hanging out on her boat. Handicap: Too numerous to mention.
Alvin Martin
Originally from Pennsylvania, Alvin has lived in Wilmington for the last 18 years with his wife Teri and 2 year old son Hayden.
Previous to coming to Coastal Golfaway Alvin was The Head Golf Professional at The Members Club @ St. James Plantation. Alvin has been a member of the PGA of America since 2000 and has served on the Carolinas PGA Board of Directors as an Area Director.
With his vast knowledge of the area and Myrtle Beach golf courses, call on him to help assist in setting up your golf vacation package.
John Venters
Having spent over thirty years in the Carolinas as a golf manufacturers representative, John really knows his way around Myrtle Beach and The Grand Strand. Golf has always been a passion of John’s, even though his nickname of “over the top” would make one think otherwise. With three beautiful women around him John believes he is one of the luckiest men in the world. No, no, no he is not a polygamist, he is that proud of his wife and two daughters. He is very excited to be working at Coastal Golfaway alongside such a wonderful and knowledgeable staff. It provides an opportunity for him to remain in the business he knows and loves and not have to spend so many nights out on the road, away from his family, friends, and Wilmington. Three decades was enough already!
Handicap: see nickname above.
