Barefoot Landing Golf Courses
The Dye Course
With a stellar reputation for designing challenging golf courses, Pete Dye has definitely delivered again, in fact The Dye Course was just voted The 2013 Golf Course of the Year. Play the Dye course at Barefoot Resort and you will quickly understand why so many of this legendary architect’s designs are used for PGA Tour Golf Tournaments.
Dye has created a dramatic golf course that winds through the pure white sands of a Carolina Bay. However, do not fall afoul of her beauty as she is full of pitfalls. Fairways are wide with generous landing areas but while the greens are fairly small, testy and undulating. This 7343 yard par 72 championship golf course is the only semi-private facility at Barefoot Resort.
The Fazio Course
World renowned for his golf course architecture, Tom Fazio has created a true classic at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach. The Fazio layout meanders through a spectacular piece of Low country that features remarkable elevation changes, live Oaks, Carolina Pines and gorgeous lakes. Well placed bunkers feature bold and stunning looks on this highly playable Grand Strand golf course.
A rather unique feature of the Fazio course is that it does not return to the clubhouse after nine holes. This golf course is always meticulously manicured and the generously wide open fairways definitely challenges one to “bomb it” off the tee. Medium size A-1 Bentgrass greens feature subtle slopes and if not careful can cause one to three putt.
The Love Course
Designed by Carolina native and PGA touring professional Davis Love III, the Love course at Barefoot Resort comes with a very special touch. An eighteen hole championship golf course that features low country character and feel, Love has cleverly included “recreated ruins” of an old southern plantation home along holes 3 through 7.
Visually striking, the Love course features elevated greens, tree-lined fairways and challenging par fours. If you enjoy driving the golf ball, the long straight, wide open fairways will have you licking your chops, while the immaculate A-1 Bentgrass greens that await each approach shot will be an absolute treat.
The Norman Course
The Norman layout at Barefoot Resort is absolutely stunning that is highlighted by seven spectacular holes that run alongside the Intra-coastal Waterway. Capitalizing on the original landscape and its natural beauty, “The Shark” has created fairways that flow into waste areas, giving the feel of a southwestern desert golf course without the desert.
A traditional par 72 the golf course measures 7200 yards off the championship tees and true to his philosophy, Norman has introduced the “bump and run” shot, creating a variety of interesting options and golf shots for the player to consider. To his credit, Norman has left trees and wetlands, “framing” each hole on this outstanding North Myrtle Beach layout.
