Myrtle Beach Golf Vacation FAQ
FAQs > Myrtle Beach Golf Vacation
What weather can I expect during my Myrtle Beach golf vacation?
The average high in February is 57 degrees. Make sure you bring a sweater or a jacket in case you happen to come on one of our colder days.
The average high in April and October is 74 degrees. Sounds like a perfect time to come on a golf trip! Make sure you pack some shorts.
The average high in July is 88 degrees. We would advise getting an early tee time in order to get some golf in before the temperature gets too high.
Myrtle Beach is the perfect golf destination because it features pleasant weather year-round. The spring months are the most popular for golfers since they generally have mild temperatures with low precipitation. If you’re trying to decide whether or not to pack the shorts, you may want to consult the Weather Channel’s monthly temperature averages for Myrtle Beach.
Is the weather the same in Myrtle Beach and Wilmington?
For the most part there is no noticeable difference in the weather.
What happens if it rains during my Myrtle Beach golf vacation?
The last thing anyone wants on a golf trip is rainy weather, but it can happen. Here is how rainouts are handled: Once a golf package begins, no refunds may be made for any portion except for COURSE CLOSURES. All Myrtle Beach area golf courses have a no-show policy throughout the year, meaning that they do not give refunds unless the golf course is closed for play. These decisions are handled on a course-by-course basis, and many offer only a Rain Check as compensation.
In order to make advance tee-times we must abide by the individual course policy on Rain Checks. Coastal Golfaway will not be able to issue a refund unless you have the golf course voucher “signed off” by the golf course indicating they will not bill Coastal Golfaway for the round.
Upon receiving your “signed off” voucher, Coastal Golfaway will either refund your golf fees less a $5.00 per person administration fee or issue you a full credit to be used towards any course on your next Coastal Golfaway trip. All refunds or credits will be issued after verification of golf course billing and by the 30th of the month following your trip. No changes are to be made to any voucher without prior approval by Coastal Golfaway.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances could change your plans. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your travel investment. This protection covers you in the case of unforeseen events that impact your travel plans both before and during your trip (typical cost is 3-6% of package amount). If you choose not to purchase travel insurance your golf package may be cancelled up to 14 business days prior to the planned date of arrival less any prepaid fees to the accommodations/courses and a $25.00 processing fee per person. No refunds will be made for unused portions of the package once any part is used, except for COURSE CLOSURES. Refunds will be issued within 60 days of arrival date.

Will Coastal Golfaway arrange my air travel for me?
We do not currently arrange air travel, because we want to focus on doing what we do best – arranging the lodging and golf for our golfers. Your best bet if you know you want to fly into Myrtle Beach is to contact your travel agent for airfare only or just call the airlines directly to get a plane ticket. We advise that you get the air schedule straightened out first prior to making the golf arrangements.
If I’m flying into the Carolinas, will I need a car to get around to all the courses?
Without a doubt, a rental car is a great idea. There just aren’t a whole lot of taxis in Wilmington and Myrtle Beach
What is the difference between staying at a condo or a hotel during my Myrtle Beach golf vacation?
Condos are great if you want a little extra room. Most of our Myrtle Beach condos typically have 2 bedrooms with 2 beds in each room, a full kitchen, a living room area and a patio / porch. Some condos even have extra amenities. However, if you stay at a condo, you’re not going to come back from a round of golf and have your bed made up and the towels picked up from the floor like a hotel. Daily maid service can be available for an additional cost. Whether you stay at a hotel or a condo you don’t have to bring sheets, linens, towels, etc. They are always provided.
Where should I stay if I want to be close to Myrtle Beach’s nightlife?
If you’re going to stay in a Myrtle Beach condo, the choices that would be the closest to Myrtle Beach nightlife would be the River Oaks condos, Myrtlewood Villas or Arrowhead condos. If you’re staying in a hotel it would either be the Ocean Reef or Long Bay Resort.
Learn more about where to stay and play by contacting one of our golf directors at (800) 368-0045.
