Many golf experts are scared over the lack of millennial golfers. But in my opinion not enough is being done to attract, and keep millennials involved in the game of golf. Many marketing efforts are done on archaic technology, and do not know how to garner and maintain our interest. However two golf apps are doing big things to get millennial golfers involved and playing together. The first is GolfMatch, an application for golfers looking to find games and see who is nearby in the area. It is great for people new to cities or who do not belong to a Club that are looking for weekly public games. Not only is it great for finding games, but posting pictures and videos highlighting your round. Every day people are posting for tips, cool courses they’ve
Course of the Week: River Landing This week’s course of the week is River Landing, and while it may not be on the Grand Strand it is an ideal course to play on the way in to Myrtle Beach. Located in Wallace, River Landing has two 18 holes courses. The River, and the Landing are both designed by Clyde Johnston who has crafted numerous gems such as Shaftesbury Glen, Glen Dornoch and Wachesaw East. Steve Sprouse the superintendent keeps this course in spectacular shape from tee to green, so much so that it has hosted numerous U.S Open qualifiers. They have also added the new champion Bermuda grass which has really taken well and putts smoother than a baby’s bottom. Either course is a delight, and we highly encourage you to check it out on
This week’s "Course of the Week" is new to the Coastal Golfaway lineup: Wachesaw Plantation Club. While it may surprise you that the staff of Coastal Golfaway would head north while it is frozen up north. We are making a concerted effort to branch out and visit our customers, so all of our interactions aren't over the phone or through email. We know many of you would rather be playing golf the next few Saturdays, but the weather is not permitting it. So we have a solution, you should come visit us at your local North Coast Golf Show, where you can learn more about golf travel, newly released clubs, and maybe get a lesson from David Leadbetter. But the true value is that you can come and meet one of our Myrtle Beach Golf Specialist in person, the good ol fashioned way, where we can handcraft a Myrtle Beach Golf Package
First things first, its a foregone conclusion that because its cold outside and you are wearing more clothes, you are not going to be able to hit the golf ball as far as you normally would. So always take "more club" when playing Winter golf. Even though old man winter is in full force, it doesn't mean that you should hang up your clubs for the entire winter. All it takes is a little more preparation, a small investment on some new apparel and of course...a lot of love for the game. The experts say that most of our body heat is lost through our hands and our head. So in order to stay warm, we need to make sure that both are sufficiently covered. A nice beanie and a really good pair of winter
Azalea Sands Golf Club is proud to announce that they will feature 8 inch golf cups! Azalea will be the first course on the Grand Strand to move to the bigger golf cups leading to lower scores, quicker rounds and of course loads more fun for the recreational golfer. This new concept is being pushed by many leaders in the golf industry. The bigger cup is a great way for beginners to play at a faster pace and with more reward. Azalea Sands is a club that focuses on fun and what’s better than making more birdies and shooting lower scores. According to statistics, millions of golfers have left the game over recent years. This has forced golf course owners and operators to "think outside the box". The "big cups" are almost twice the size of

The Moorland golf course at Legends Golf Resort has been recognized as the 2014 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the year. This prestigious award is highly regarded in the industry and could not have gone to a more deserving facility. From arrival to departure, you will feel at home at Legends Golf Resort and you will be treated with outstanding southern hospitality. A stout par 72 P.B. Dye masterpiece, Moorland has received its fair share of harsh criticism for Dye's broad use of mounding, penal pot bunkers and water hazards. There are a ton of blind shots at Moorland and Dye's uncanny ability in golf design is very evident, this course will raise your game to dizzy heights and then bring you to your knees in a heartbeat. Rumored to be one of the greatest
